I’m gonna do this mod on my G29 brake pedal, cheap n easy.

Jogort this mod works very well, there are others who get a custom made rubber stopper that’s just longer than the original, about the same length as I’ve made. Mine cost £1 though and feels much better than original. 👍🤣

BritishBean Yeah, I’ll be getting that for sure. Although I had in my mind that it would be next year and would consider the boost pack and quick release. I’ll need to have a think.

Also need to figure out a more fixed solution for the pedals on the Playseat Challenge. The way they are just now, they’re secure enough but not enough for a load cell. Need to figure if I want to take the pedal base off the rig and secure it up against the wall which makes it easier to put everything away and I’m fairly sure the wall won’t move or some other solution for the pedal panel on the playseat.

GassyHaggis You may start to make a line imprint into the wall from the force of pushing the plastic edge into it. I think you need to do what @Brave has and put an 8020 rig on your Christmas list 😉

I’ve put a Xmas present request in with my wife for the new Thrustmaster load cells. The t3pa pro pedals have actually been really good but with the GT3 cars I’m finding myself trail braking a hell of a lot and that’s proving more tough to judge than I’d like.

I use the old CSL Elite pedals with the Playseat Challenge, I use zip ties to hold the pedals in place.

Alex Yup, I’m thinking the layout of the plate might need adjusted slightly and I have a bag of cable ties I bought when I picked up bolts in preparation for the CSL DD arriving.

I’d settled on a 34″ Ultrawide but had about 5 or 6 I’d have been happy with - all had good and bad points. This hits the right price point (£380 - actually paid £340 by getting an Amazon Mastercard in case they don’t sort out the Visa issue, plus 6 months of GamePass Ultimate). It doesn’t quite have the screen response time of other models - not shabby but not fantastic - but it’s a good compromise given I’ll be using it for work/productivity too (10-bit screen. USB-C connection, it looks quite good too which is nice. Features like mic and mini-sound bar are also a plus.

Ugh so frustrating. Waited up last night hoping to pre-order the CSL Load Cell Pedal from Fanatec but their website didn’t update to add them to the store at midnight. After half an hour I gave up and went to bed. Wake up at 6:45 and now the website seems to be overloaded by visitors and won’t load 😩

I’m going to install them this afternoon. The way my space is, doing anything with brake pedals is a pain in the f**k. So I’m working up to it just now =D

I’m thinking I’m going to need to change out the springs that come with it. There’s a few mods available but I came across a very simple one that should give me a combination of realistic pedal travel whilst completely maintaining the pressure element of it.

It’s actually a very simple swap once the pedals are bolted on.

There should be almost no travel in the load cell shouldn’t there?

Alex yup. But to me that doesn’t feel at all natural. In every car I’ve ever driven there’s a combination of pressure and movement, so these pedals use a customisable selection of springs to allow for whatever you feel is an appropriate amount of travel and can adjust the curve to your liking.

You can even have no movement at all if you like. By all reports it feels very realistic. What I’m trying to is find a braking system that feels right for my own experience. That way I can judge trail braking a lot better. Theoretically.

Well there’s always some movement, with the Fanatec you have little stoppers called ‘shores’ you put in which come in different levels of hardness. I started with the softest which felt best coming from a potentiometer pedal like the G29s, but over time I’ve moved to the hardest ones. Generally harder is better in terms of speed.
