Did my first race, very pleased with it. Although it’s hard to learn a new wheel in VR when you can’t see it!
I don’t find it much wider than my previous rim so I settled down with it fine. It’s more substantial and heavier than my old one so it actually dampens the force feedback a bit, so I might need to tweak that. It actually makes the steering feel a bit more stable which is interesting.
There are so many buttons and a lot of them are overloaded, so it will take me a long time to get them all mapped. The big blue rotatory is actually the mode for the analogue paddles, as you can use them as double-clutch or you can use one as clutch and the other as a handbrake, or use them as throttle/brake. I plan to use them as double-clutches but will need to play around with setting the bite point etc. That said a handbrake might be useful in Dirt Rally!
One thing is that the shifter paddles are very loud! Like incredibly loud! Might take some getting used to. I see there are videos on how to dampen the sound, but I’ll see how I get on before resorting to that.
Overall great so far!
