I think it will be. That Ally X version is in decent gaming laptop territory I think.

It looks nice but I can’t see me buying Xbox hardware again since I can get the games on PS5 now.

Purely a streaming device though isn’t it? Stream from cloud or locally from xbox. So just a PS Portal. Think I’ll stick with the deck until Sony release a proper handheld again.

Jogort no - they are decently spec’ed machines:

They are running a stripped down Windows OS.

Jogort yeah it’s a full blown machine with a modified and streamlined version of windows that basically takes you straight to an Xbox interface.

Ah fair enough then, I just read a small snippet that said streaming from cloud & locally from an xbox. Reading another article now that says it plays natively also and does sound like a solid machine, still think I’ll wait for the PS one though.

One interesting aside, particularly if this is the direction future Xbox regular consoles take. It can play all the PS Studios games which have been released on PC. An XBox branded machine with The Last of Us available on it…

I think it’s a new chip on the expensive one though. Z2 extreme I think? I’m not a chip nerd but from what I’ve heard people seem to think it’s pretty good.

I tried to play The Alters on game pass, which has been getting solid reviews, but it was so broken I couldn’t get passed the opening section.

Yeah. I’m cancelling my ultimate sub. Too many reasons now. I definitely prefer to buy my games anyway but with so many bad decisions and such a huge reduction in first party dev I just don’t think the value will be there for me in the future. What they’ve done to Rare is unforgivable.

I’m not sure I can see the point of the handheld now either. That’s a wait and see. I’d probably just use steam if I bought it anyway.

Brave My GPU ran out recently and I just did a cheap 3 month renewal to tide me over whilst I make a longer term decision. This and the other more MS Corporate reasons (you are probably alluding to above) have tipped me towards trimming my consoles.
