Gordon it’s been ok. It depends on the game but most verified games are tolerable to decent. The OS has a great little feature built in to help as well, Steam button + L1 instantly magnifies the screen and then you move it around easily with the stick. I’ve tried it with unverified games and it works a bloody treat.
Keep in mind though that I have very specific lifelong eyesight issues and that my current glasses have outstayed their welcome. I’m waiting for a new prescription to arrive, I have to get custom lenses made and the lightweight material they have to be made from is undergoing Brexit supply chain problems. Should finally have the new ones in a few days.
Once that happens I expect it to be a almost non issue, especially with old man varifocals. I’m 20:20 with glasses btw, just really badly blind without.
The thing itself is a dream. Elden Ring works beautifully, NMS has been transformed because I can bumble around without hogging the big screen. I’ve been having a blast with some of my early access games too. Phantom Abyss is perfect on the deck even though it’s unverified.
Control is verified and on sale so I’m going to try that and I’m going to give Deep Rock a go as well. They’re close to finalising the windows 11 drivers too, at which point I’m going to dual boot and get access to Gamepass.
I think this might change my gaming habits considerably.
