Thought it was closer to 63,000 sq.m
MadAndy You may well be right - I took a quoted measure of the ‘shore distance’ and just approximated it to be a circle 😃. Given that, it would be about thirty times my estimates!
Glasgow has been dressed as 1969 New York for filming of the new Indiana Jones movie. Harrison Ford’s stunt double riding a horse down St Vincent street during a tickertape parade. I used to literally live about a hundred metres from here!
Alex the followup on my post from last year, the trailer from the new Indiana Jones is out and Glasgow’s looking pretty great.
Glasgow visible first at 8 seconds in, then again for the tickertape parade at 55 seconds.
Hehe. That’s amazing!
I remember the first time I watched World War Z and going “Haaaaang on a minute”.
Marvel stuff getting filmed in Edinburgh was a bit mental as well. 🙂
Yeah, Glasgow uses the same grid system as a lot of US cities, and has quite similar architecture, so it works well as a stand in.
I wonder if the screenplay called for rain in these scenes. No way they could anticipate this weather.
My office (when we still had one) was just round the corner, was surprising how little they had to change for the WWZ shoot to sell it as the US.
I think huge productions like this can make it look like any weather they want.
Alex True. But then why not shoot somewhere closer to home?
The Scottish Government give massive tax breaks to film companies to film here, as they believe it promotes Scotland. Also it is probably easier to convince GCC to shutdown central Glasgow for several days rather than New York.

Quite possibly the smallest working arcade machine in the world. Made by a friend of my mate Dan from work. It’s entirely self contained aside from the USB cable for power. I’ve asked for pics of the insides.

But
I couldn’t get my head around that until they mentioned transitioning to health and wellbeing company. Kinda makes sense but why wait? Otherwise it is hypocritical.
This is amazing - a thread that starts off talking about Brexit then veers off into how beer production affects the London Underground, and the measures the British government took to ensure the U.K. was kept supplied with tea during WWII. And how in the process the British government was effectively given distribution control of all the tea in the world, literally. It’s the kind of bonkers history we need to hear more about.

BritishBean we’re using that to stun the chickens 🐓
😁
MadAndy any spare to also stun those morally vacant crunts filling up their car and 5 jerry cans at petrol stations?
