Got my racing seat today. Feels very weird after so many years in an office chair, also feels a bit rickety, but overall good. I need to bolt the wheel properly to it as the clamp only just holds it on and won’t survive a angry wrench. Pedals very planted although can only muster the force to get the load cell to about 60%. Thankfully you can tweak it through the wheel itself. Will need to take some time and properly get everything sorted out. Now I’m eyeing one of those ultrawide monitors! 🤣

OK bolted the wheel onto the seat now and it’s much better. Was a bit of a faff to free up all the holes I needed but now feels pretty stable.

BritishBean very confusing stuff. So a hub is not a base so add another £300 to that before pedals. Thought it looked too good to be true.

BritishBean Yeah the Fanatec stuff can be really confusing, best thing is to look at their website and see what’s featured in the bundle. It’s eye wateringly expensive lol.

I read about the G923 and the gears motor put me off - noisy and you feel the gears. Other than Fanatec it looked like Thrustmaster was an alternative with belt motor but the wheel itself didn’t look great.

Also rather frustratingly it appears that the cheaper Fanatec CSL is PS4 not XB

The one I have is really good. It’s literally Sparco’s real world rally wheel with some Xbox buttons in the mix.

Alex yes very much so. I liked the look of the Forza one but far too expensive for something I have real concerns about the longevity of my interest.

the Logitech is the sweet spot on price but I’ve read stuff about the gears in the motor being noisy and a unflavoured approach when it comes to wheels. Hence looked at Thrustmaster and Fanatec. The latter is too expensive, certainly new anyway, and Thrustmaster I’m struggling to identify a direct competitor to the G920/923

Mine is Xbox and PC specific. It’s the TS-XW. Very slightly cheaper than fanatec, especially considering the brexit tax, as they appear to be able to operate as if they’re selling in the UK. At least that’s been my experience thankfully.

I think the TX ones will be fine too.

I find the nomenclature from all wheel manufacturers very confusing. I nearly bought a TX (which I think is just one step down from mine) wheel base thinking it was the base for TS-XW. Iirc Thrustmaster sell the bases on their own from their store and then you could choose your own rim.
