Yeah consistency is the key thing with the load cell, your foot is terrible at judging distance but fantastic at judging pressure, so with the load cell you can be much more precise and consistent. I found it took a week or so to get up to speed with the load cell, but once you do it is much better.
It’s not so much an issue with cars that have ABS but in something like the F3 in iRacing I found it almost impossible to brake before the load cell. With that car if you stamp on the brakes it will lock every time, you need to judge the exact moment it will lock and then modulate it to get the best braking performance. You can’t do with a potentiometer brake at all. I’m always amazing that some people do drive the F3 with the G29.
There are some downsides, they do require quite a lot of pressure to press down (80kg for myFanatec ones) which can be hard for some people to reach and can cause your seat to move. Also they are harder to calibrate as whenever you need to recalibrate the pedals whey will feel different due to you not putting in the same exact pressure and it will take some time to get used to again.
Overall if you want to improve as a sim racer they are the single best upgrade you can get.
