Gammerz it’s not just for gaming, I use the PC for work, also it’s an alternative to buying an XSX as all Microsoft games come to Windows as well. There are also games on PC which are not available on console.
Building a PC is pretty straightforward as they are essentially modular by design, so it’s normally a matter of plugging the right bits together. The important part is to make sure you buy things which are compatible. There are sites like pcpartpicker which can help you. You could probably get away with it by reading/watching some guides beforehand.
It’s no where near as complicated and fiddly as it used to be. The BIOS/UEFI should be auto configured, although it’s a good idea to check that the speeds/timings of things are correct. You do not need to apply thermal paste to a CPU/heatsink unless you want to, you can often get cooler temps that way, but all heatsinks come with a thermal pad applied these days. The only tool you really need is a star screwdriver.
Edit: I should probably mention that it’s a bad time to build a PC because of chip shortages, which are affecting both GPU and CPU availability and prices. You’re currently better off buying an off the shelve PC.
