Brave You’re not wrong. I bought the cheapest one but even then the CPU specs are.. a bit mad. It is basically the mini tower Mac I’ve been saying for years I wanted Apple to build and then they went and did, so I felt kind of obliged. Plus I got a bit fed up waiting for a Mac mini that could drive two decent monitors properly.
TBF I do do some fairly computationally intensive things - 3D modelling for printing, some 4K video stuff, bit of iOS/Swift coding here and there. M1 Mac mini wasn’t quite enough for all the jobs. This may possibly have gone too far the other way, but I only buy a new Mac like every 8 years so it’s got to have some future proofing.
I don’t know entirely how good compatibility is going to be just yet, but I hear it’s pretty decent. Plus if I’m spending a lot of time in Xcode and FCP, they ruddy should work after all, given they’re made by Apple.
