Alex it’s good. I’m taking it slowly and only moving forward when I feel I’ve managed to implement what he’s saying first.
Although he goes into detail about heel and toe quite early and I’m not sure that’s going to be possible for me with the g29 pedals. It’s actually why I got the shoes. I get agonising cramp in the soles of my feet and the blades of them too, at even just the hint of any kind of unusual pressure (part of this neuro thing). So I’d hoped that karting boots with sturdy but thin soles would help.
They actually do help but I think the pedals are still too far apart for my right foot and you need to adjust the brake height so that it’s in line with the accelerator when it’s fully depressed so that you can blip the throttle as you hit the brakes.
I reckon I can learn the movement but I need the pedals to be sorted first.
So I’m going to move on past that now and hope that I’ve either figured out how to mod the pedals or can afford a posh set by the time I loop back and start the book again.
TL;DR
It’s very good. Goes into detail about small details of driving technique (even mirror placement) and good detail about setup as well.
