So I did the thing that I always seem to do in Souls games, to the point of it being either uncanny or a character flaw.
Last night within the space of about two hours I actually nailed two shard bearers. I.e two of the very top critical bosses.
Basically, I was reluctant to go into a particular area because it looked too tough and imposing, so I went off and explored an area Iād already been in. I rinsed these other areas until I realised Iād got no way forward. Then it became apparent that really, I had needed to go through The Scary Door all along.
Having levelled up in what were actually tougher areas I ended up making my through yet another ridiculously huge castle and doing a mini boss (which was very lucrative for coop) and then finding my way to the main boss of the area. I canāt say I was over levelled as it was still tough and actually thereās a special and fun mechanic you need to gr0k to win. But through helping others I figured out the mechanic and finished him. Also very lucrative to coop.
Then I realised I had already almost cleared my way to another boss in a previous area due to me being a total feartie (look it up). So within an hour Iād done that boss too.
So heās down and I can get 30000 runes for helping out there which means just two successful sunbro sessions for one level up. So thatās 4 great runes. Even more, Iād already rinsed the comfy areas to the point where Iād unlocked two divine towers, or at least their graces.
And to add to that Iāve already unlocked the grace of and unsuccessfully attempted another shard bearer. Plus Iām now on my way to what I think is another one.
This is something I always end up doing every time a new souls game arrives. Thereās an area I donāt fancy so I rinse everywhere else. I get comfy in an area that I previously didnāt want to enter and the cycle continues. The psychology of these games is on another level.
