Some of the high quality captured videos on YouTube show the system can produce some really good quality output, DLSS no doubt putting in some good work. At least with the Nintendo games, the 3rd Party stuff tended to look a little ropier, but those dev won’t have had so much time with the kits and will be downsizing from a more complex starting point rather than building an engine up to the machine’s capabilities.

I got an email saying invitations no longer required to purchase a Switch 2 on Amazon. So they are just going for a mass order? Or does that mean lower interest or more stock?

DrDamn maybe they’re predicting more stock allocation transferring from the states?

Apparently some people got positive emails. I’ll just keep an eye on it. I’m not desperate to have one day one, but I know I’ll be hankering as soon as people start getting them.

Nintendo finally came through for me. I just got the email. I’m now all preordered up!

It’s good that Nintendo prioritised people the way it did for their own store - even if that excluded me(!). The rest of the pre-orders have been a disorderly cluster though. With different retailers going on different dates it wasn’t easy to catch one at the right time.

I think the chaotic staggering of other stores might be a neat way to fuck with scalpers though.

MadAndy Pick up in Clydebank at midnight, stabbing was a distinct possibility 😂 It was actually very civilised though. Not many folk there, apparently everyone went to the huge Smyths a few miles away instead. Was in the queue 20 minutes then 5 minutes to pick up my order and I was out.

First impressions - it’s a slightly bigger Switch. The UI is more responsive, the shop isn’t a total disaster now. The Pro controller is very nice. My kids have hijacked it now. They played one race in new Mario Kart, asked if they could play old Mario Kart instead and now Meg is teaching Iona to play Minecraft. Money well spent I’d say
