MadAndy Pick up in Clydebank at midnight, stabbing was a distinct possibility 😂 It was actually very civilised though. Not many folk there, apparently everyone went to the huge Smyths a few miles away instead. Was in the queue 20 minutes then 5 minutes to pick up my order and I was out.

First impressions - it’s a slightly bigger Switch. The UI is more responsive, the shop isn’t a total disaster now. The Pro controller is very nice. My kids have hijacked it now. They played one race in new Mario Kart, asked if they could play old Mario Kart instead and now Meg is teaching Iona to play Minecraft. Money well spent I’d say

Distinct lack of any reviews on websites for launch. Seems they are only just getting the games and hardware too?

Have you tested the console (not headphone) virtual surround sound in the settings?

So far Mario Kart and Fast Fusion are fantastic. Just going to set up cross save on No Man’s Sky and then give that a go as well.

It’s nice being at the beginning phase of a Nintendo console again. I reckon there’ll be a good five years of fun before it begins to look a bit tired.

Brave Online Mario Kart players are pretty scary, I was really struggling. It works very well though, the knockout thing is great fun.

Gordon Yeah. The ELO system will level everything out soon. I got to about 7000 in MK8 when I was playing obsessively.

Mine arrived just after lunch and I just about managed to get it set up and ready to go with Mario Kart to surprise Oli with before he got home from school. Totally worth every penny. 😁

Conveniently Royal Mail left mine beside the recycling bin in full view of the street. Which was nice. He even left a smiley on the card through the door 🤦🏻‍♂️

Anyway, it survived being pinched and rained on and is nearly ready to go.

Got it all set up now, connected to the TV etc. First impressions are that it’s a very nice bigger Switch. The resolution uplift on games bring them nicely up to date and I actually started Breath of the Wild today 😁

Bigger joy cons make them more bearable, but I’ll be looking to grab a Pro controller when I can find one. I also picked up a 12 month family online + expansion pack code on CD Keys for £46 which is reasonable. I’ll be played games I have already and Mario for a bit, then catching up with older titles I’ve missed in the last few years.

Overall, does what it says on the tin, but doesn’t feel like a particularly massive leap, just a comfy and pleasant one. It is exactly what I needed to get back into Switch gaming though, and resolution bumps, even for older titles like Mario Odyssey, are very welcome.
