Bluetooth connections to Macs.

Just bought the Xbox Turtlebay 700 Gen 2 today. Been trying to connect the Bluetooth to my late 2013 MBPro. It says its connected but audio continues to only come through the speakers. Can’t find any hard or fast answers on the net, does anyone know anything about it?

700s run Bluetooth 4.2, seen that there’s a wireless adaptor from M$ but seems its for Windows 10. Latest firmware is updated and does connect to mobile BT fine. Any help would make me not regret buying these. Ta.

Some research. Looks like MBP didn’t support BT 4.2 til 2016. Could I get a Bluetooth usb dongle, or a receiver one that has a 3.5mm so can be used for TV etc as well… Or, is Turtlebay a restrictive kinda company that it only works on certain things.

Comes to my usual question. Why doesn’t it just bloody work for love that all is holy!

I have the Stealth 600 for the PS4/5, it came with a little dongle that you use to connect to the console, but it also works on the PC. I take it the Xbox version doesn’t have that?

Not for the Xbox unfortunately. In terms of connecting it connects directly to the Xbox in the same way the controllers do.

Can you still return it? The recently unveiled MS ones do XBox wireless and bluetooth (at the same time even!).

DrDamn Probably not unfortunately. The 700s do connect to both game and other BT devices at the same time as well, working fine with my phone… Just not the old Mac one it seems. Think my solution is a Bluetooth USB adaptor (4.2 or 5.0 if it’s backwards compatible). Just getting a Phd in Bluetooth now to make sure it’ll work with this headset XD
