Gordon Don’t suppose you can run a server on a Mac? I’ve got a Mac Mini from work that sits idle 99% of the time.
Gordon Jonbwfc M1. My own Mac died a couple of years back so I’m a bit out of touch with all things Mac OS.
Jonbwfc Gordon probly not then. With an intel one you could maybe get things running with a bit of faff, but there’s no way to run PC apps on an M1 as far as I know.
Brave I’m thinking about springing for a paid server at the weekend. It’s definitely a game that could be great fun with a shared persistent world, and without randoms at that. 🙂
Fumanstu I had a look at the G-Wotsit thing and it doesn’t seem too expensive, quite happy to chip in a few coffees to help cover the first few months and then see from there.
Fumanstu Felt like a right arsehole murdering hapless deer that didn’t know I was there last night. Still got that nice leather armour set and took down the first boss - which unlocks a pretty useful crafting option.
Gordon That link for running a Valheim server requires Docker, which doesn’t yet have a stable build available for M1 Macs. Bah. I’ll keep an eye on it.
Brave Ok that’s fine. I’ll buy a couple months of server time. If we can move to a little M1 server down the line then all the better 😉
Jogort Was out on a flint hunt (oooeerr) and bumped into a greydwarf brute…. Hard to scraper quick as even my arrows barely dented him 😱😱
Brave I’ve bought 90 days \o/ I’ve also set up a discord channel. The server IP and password are in the channel info. Just so that randoms don’t get in too easily.
Brave I spent an hour or so this evening building myself a nice new house. The world is up and running 24/7 so feel free to jump in whenever 😉
Gordon I had a poke around earlier. Still trying to figure out what’s going on. I’ve been finding the building controls really fiddly, having a lot of trouble getting pieces to snap together the way I want. Tried both controller and M&KB. I probably just suck.
