Right, had a go there. Quietly impressed by it. Obviously coming from the CSL Elite itās not a night and day difference, like it would be coming from say a G29, but itās definitely a decent improvement.
Itās much smoother of course and lacks the ānotchinessā that a belt driven wheel has. It also has a lot less natural damping than a belt wheel so it moves much more easily. A little too easily maybe, I might need to play around with that in the settings.
You can definitely feel much more subtle things than before and I was able to really throw the car into corners in iRacing with a lot of confidence. There were a few slides that I was able to catch that Iām not sure I would have been before. I was really giving it some welly in the Porsche Cup car, which is an absolute beast, and I wasnāt having too much trouble keeping it pointed in the right direction.
I went with the 5nm wheel as I wasnāt going to pay Fanatec Ā£150 for a more powerful power supply. Instead Iām going to have a go with this knockoff one which gets very good reviews. For Ā£25 itās definitely worth a punt.
So anyway, a solid upgrade over the Elite.
