Ive got my tools out again and gone rogue.
I’ve had the CSL DD for around 8 months now. I bought it with the weaker power supply (90w) giving 5nm of torque to the wheel and it’s been great, but I’ve always wondered about the ‘Boost Kit 180’.
I have a birthday coming up next week and thought about having one as a present, but paying £150 for a 180w power supply was a difficult pill to swallow. So after much investigating and reading up on electrics I went the DIY route.
I’ve bought a 200w 24v power supply from Amazon for £34, some additional wiring, some crimps and a molex plug.
It works! I’m quite impressed with the leap in FFB strength. I’ve been using it on maximum on ACC on PC but now I need to turn it down. Only had a quick go to prove the theory but the signals seem to be more detailed too. I’m feeling more through the wheel. Just need to wire it properly now and fix it to the rig neatly.
Happy bunny!
