GassyHaggis Yikes the way he commentates over his own stuff is sort of demented.
I know the feeling of getting a bit burned out on iRacing, the trick for me is just to take some time away. I always feel the urge to go racing again after a while.
Also in terms of iR and SR I used to stress about them more, but these days Iām pretty relaxed. Iām a safe B license (which means I have access to everything I want to race) and my iR fluctuates around 2k which puts me in about the right place for my speed level.
I think itās important to remember that iR is purely used by the matchmaking tool to place you with other drivers of your skill level, itās not a rating thatās designed to be gamed. Having a high iR means youāre placed with faster drivers (and probably cleaner too) but thatās about it.
Having briefly gained iRating above my station a couple of times I can tell you itās not fun suddenly finding yourself miles off the pace and pottering around at the back of the field trying not to get in anyoneās way. Iād much rather be in a competitive field where I have the chance of a decent result.
SR is more important as it governs what cars/series you have available but itās also the more gameable of the two ratings, as you can give yourself license points just by touring around at the back without getting in anyoneās way.
I think once I realised those things I stopped worrying so much about ratings. Still a really bad run of races can be really stressful and death spirals are hard to get out of.
I think the gameās got more chill for me now my rating has stabilised.
