GassyHaggis I’m not convinced the higher the pressure the faster you’ll be. I have mine around 50% and with this setting I’m able to manage trail braking. I found that more difficult at 80% and was therefore slower.

BritishBean are you guys talking about the BRF setting? As I thought that was the amount of pressure needed to get 100% braking power, so 50% needs less of a press than say 75%. I dunno how you can do it on 50% as I find I lock up far too quickly on that setting.

Apparently the built-in crew chief will now warn you if you don’t have enough fuel for the race, which is great news.

Jogort Yeah that’s why I’ve been putting it up. When I first got it, my weak old man muscles could barely handle 30% but that’s me moved it up gradually each time I’ve sat down to race.

@BritishBean Completely get the trailbraking thing. I’ve been finding I’m locking up quicker though so that’s why I’ve been going up.

Yeah that’s my understanding of it. The CSL Elite can take up to 90kg of pressure so if you set it to 50 then you need to put in 45kg for it to register 100%. I have it set to 90-100% for the F3 car, 60-70% for GT3s because of the ABS.

I think the CSL pedal is set to 65 shore, which is equivalent to the ‘soft’ setting on the CSL Elites. I use 85 shores with the Elites so my pedal will be stiffer.

GassyHaggis I’m also playing ACC not iRacing and obviously exclusively GT3 cars so with ABS locking up isn’t an issue for me. If I play something else I’d be doing the same so that I don’t lock up with cars without ABS 👍🏻

I noticed a much better braking control going from 50% default to 75% when driving the Radical the other day. At 50 I felt like I was barely pressing and it was locking up

The MAP F3 cup this Friday is going to be at Nürburgring GP. A fairly solid track choice that won’t require much practice.

Alex Just watched your YouTube F3 Nürburgring GP race, didn’t seem like you had enough damage to pit. Bloody nice overtake at the end though, that S bend seems not as tight as in other games as you were going through there pretty quick.

Jogort yeah, the back end felt a bit loose, I probably could have not pitted but I decided to play it safe. I couldn’t be arsed doing the full half hour race with the backend constantly trying to come round.

Not done much practice for this one, just going to try and keep in on the track.

Qualified 14th which I was happy with, then got crashed out at the fourth corner.

Climbed from 32nd to 9th then got disconnected.

Yeah thanks, not too bad, would have been higher but had to spin to avoid someone parked on the chicane.

That’s only the second time I’ve ever been disconnected from iRacing lol. I’m not sure I’ll recover from that quickly.

I must say I found the overall standard of driving was very poor tonight. MAP stuff is never that great but tonight it was like an F3 official. Even with Brad doing the race stewarding. Oh well.

The framerate was pretty bad at this track with 50 cars on track, even with settings low my pretty powerful PC was still chugging, that might have contributed to things a bit I guess.

After talking to the guy who hit me in race one and watching my onboard I’m pretty happy that it was netcode. You can see he goes straight on while my car is wrecked. Just one of those things.

I’m not going to bother doing videos for these races lol (although the disconnect one might be fun), but this was the entirety of my first race…
