The F3 is a capricious beast. If you haven’t started loving/hating it yet then you probably aren’t pushing hard enough. 🤣
As I’ve said before it’s all about tyre temp, as the tyres heat you can go faster and faster. Corners which are big lifts on colds are easy flat when warm. You can seriously go two or three second a lap faster when the tyres heat up.
That’s the big thing people struggle with and what makes the series so notorious, the car performance is just so different depending on tyre temp that it can make things very unpredictable.
Temps can also be an issue at the end of the race too, as the tyres warm throughout by the end they can overheat. After about twenty minutes or so if the car starts to slide a lot that’s the clue to dial it back a notch.
Anyway, MAP are going back to the F3 from next season, so if you fancy joining for Monday practice nights then you are more than welcome. It’s crazy how much faster you find yourself going after an evening of chasing those guys.
I don’t think they are doing official swarms any more but I still think a lot of people will show up for the Wednesday nights for the officials.
