I stepped up to GT3 last week. I felt a little bit out of my comfort zone if I’m honest. I like the Ferrari but these feel a lot more skittish than the cars in ACC. Or maybe it’s more accurate to say they feel similar until you get to the edge of grip and the edge is much closer in iracing imo.
I didn’t practice anywhere near as much as I usually do. Just half an hour really. I definitely saw the upside of just racing as I took over a second off my best practice times, but the flip side is very much that I got waaay more nervous. I really felt like I might take someone out in the first handful of laps and that I was just holding on to the car.
That settled down as I began to defend harder but I do think I need to find a better balance between learning a track and car and going racing. Some middle ground I think.
Anyway. I’ll be on the sidelines this week as it’s Catalunya, which I don’t own. So I’ll probably practice Suzuka more as I know it better now and as a known variable it can help me learn the car a bit better.
I’m thinking I might get a different car though. Will watch the Dorian GT3 video and have a think 😉
