Jogort Yeah, I think he did something serious to his right rear. Maybe suspension or something. I couldn’t believe he was able to overtake with his front left up in the air. That was the power of optimism over ability I think 😄
This is the arm that I’m using.
I’ve got a lot of cable management and stuff to do before a picture would even make sense. I’ve still got the old monitor stand in the way at the moment. Once I’ve found the time to get that taken down and my cables tidied I’ll post a pic.
It’s very simple though. The monitor just attaches to the VESA mount with 4 bolts and then you clamp the thing to a nearby desk or similar (or the other way around depending on if you have another pair of hands). It’s only the top part of the arm that has vertical movement so you need to make sure it’ll get as low as you need it to but shouldn’t be a huge issue as that arm has a decent vertical range.
That arm is rated for up to 12kg as well, which is way over the weight of my monitor. What this results in is next to no noticeable movement of the monitor even though I have it clamped to the wheel platform. Don’t get a lighter rated one though as that affects vertical and horizontal range.
You can change the resistance of each element that moves with an Alan key. I’ve got the monitor set so that it takes just a little extra push to move it but not enough to be a real effort.
I used to have to take the wheel off if I wanted to play other games or try to work from home on photographs etc. Now I can just push the seat back and pull the monitor down over the wheel and it’s as if the wheel isn’t there. I might actually be able to bolt it on now instead of using the clamp come to think of it.
