Not sure if it was an account set up before the captcha was but I’ve just deleted about ten spam posts from one account. They didn’t get through to being publicly viewable, but we might still want to be on the lookout for spammers for a while yet.
If you go into the users list in the admin section you can see the join date, that one had joined today so looks like they’re having another go.
1 more spammer banhammered.
16 new spamholes banhammered and the same amount of posts deleted
15 more spamholes and 8 threads
12 spamholes / 11 posts banned
c**ts are still beavering away as I type. Just deleted 3 new twats and 2 posts from 6 minutes ago.
Relentless today, that’s them at 12 and counting. Might need to try something new.
Just deleted 31 spamholes and 21 posts. By the time I’d gone through that lot a new account had been made.
It’s getting unmanageable
I don’t know what the solution is. Except just to turn off new signups.
Alex I think at the moment that might be what we need to do. It might give us time to find a solution. And tbh we could get by just fine like that and inviting people we know to join if any of us ever wanted to do that.
Brave Yeah, I’ve turned it off then.
And I just banned a new one. It’s like bloody whackamole
Alex thanks Alex. I know it’s far from ideal but sadly the ideal internet died a long time ago.
Hopefully we can find a plug-in that not only recognises a spammer when it sees one but sends a sharp spike to their arse at the same time 😉
Honestly, an extension that blocked new posts containing links to certain domains would probably fix it. I had a look for something like that before but couldn’t find it.
I updated the welcome message.
Signups are turned off due to spam, if you’d like to join send us a message on Discord: https://discord.gg/vVS3tUhZ

I’m going to try turning signups back on as an experiment.
We’ve got one already. I’ll leave it there just in case there’s anything you can glean from it.
Brave it appears to have vital information on my skin care routine! 😉
DrDamn very helpful I thought 🙂 especially the stem cell bit. We all have access to that.
