The more I play this the more I love it. It’s weird and clever and funny and dark and happy all at once. It has outright humour and strange, disconcerting moments (The Forest King is genuinely quite unsettling) and a lightness of touch that I feel is quite rare.
It’s got to the point now where I’m effectively rationing myself. I do a puzzle that opens a new section and I think to myself “No, if I go and do this now, it’ll be over sooner and I don’t want it to be over sooner”. So I go off and do something or play something else instead, even though I do really want to stay in that world. Because one day, I’ll reach the end of the story it wants to tell, and then I’ll be sad that there isn’t any more of it.
It is a complete surprise and a genuine delight. And it was made by four people. Four.
