Thinking about leasing my first car. My original plan was to buy something used for around 5K cash, but Iāve been swayed by the leasing system. Iāve got a couple of quotes for a Renault Clio 2023 for around Ā£190/200 a month, for a two year lease.
I figure this way I can get a brand new car without having to mess around trying to find something to buy. Then if I decide I donāt like driving then I can get rid of it. Or upgrade to something better. This whole driving thing is a bit of an experiment on my part. š¤£
Anyone have experience of leasing a car, does this sound like a non-mental thing to do?
The insurance is about Ā£1500, which I guess is okay. I can drop it a few hundred quid by taking a black box monitoring system in the car, but Iām in two minds about that. Maybe it will encourage me to drive more safely. Feels a bit Big Brother.
I find the idea of having a car delivered to your door and just being able to get in and drive it about completely absurd. Shouldnāt be allowed. š
