So tabletop gaming is a thing I do. That includes both boxed board games and stuff like Warhammer. Anything to pass the time.
Warhammer 40K is (for those who don’t know) is Games Workshop’s sci fi fantasy mini game. It’s in space in the 40th millennium, but there are orks and elves and space wizards. But what there hasn’t been, for maybe 25 years, is space dwarves. They were in, then for some reason GW dropped them. No minis being made, no rules to play with the existing minis, just written out. And people made bit of a meme of them coming back - any time GW teased anything at all, it would be ‘the dwarves are coming back!’. Kind of like Valve and ‘Half Life 3 confirmed!’
Then on April 1st this year, GW teased what actually looked like a dwarf in a space suit. And most people said “OK, you’re just taking the piss now…”
But it wasn’t an April fool, they actually did it. Space dwarves are back (or at least will be some time in the summer). I went to the `insta list announcing it to see the reaction, and what do I find…
