@Brave and I are going through an NG+ play through on Monday nights (though not tonight as it’s Clodcast night). So easy to get suckered back into the flow and addictive nature of the game. Some dealing with invaders to be done but most easily dispatched with two of us wailing on them.

A mate of mine in the states finally got hold of a PS5 a couple of months ago via a scalper after trying and failing to find one since launch. He’s a huge fan of the Souls games but had never played Demon’s Souls before - he started with Dark Souls. It was an absolute joy chatting to him and seeing his reactions over the next few weeks as he played through it for the first time.

I started a new game to try a different build, went barbarian and tried punching my way through. Managed to get first shortcut open but getting a proper fist weapon is going to take a little longer. Think I might have to go two handed bastard sword to get me past Phalanx and then do Latria until I get the claws.

The animation for a punch back stab is great though. Seems pretty generous with the sweet spot too.

I quite enjoyed that. I loved the Hades series they did so this was interesting too. Fascinating the thought they put into things that I maybe took for granted. Cameras, sound, adding subtle guidance, etc.

For some reason I stopped playing this ages ago, went back to it yesterday and started afresh. It’s really a stunning looking game, getting my way through with a magician/swordy type fella. Just downed this guy

World tendency stuff is all still a bit vague to me, I see things I can’t get to, like the weapon at the start of the dragon God but no indication of what you need to do to get it opened up. I know some things need world pure white or pure black but no idea what affects that.
I think the only souls game I’ve finished is Bloodborne 😱😝

Currently working my way through upper Latria, don’t think I’ve ever been in this area certainly not in the remaster. Stunningly eerie feel to this level and some disgusting beasties at the bottom, I’m sure I can here some of the heads on them calling for help 🤣

Jogort Latria is one of my favourite areas in any game. It’s foreboding and disgusting and utterly miserable and I love it 😍

DrDamn haha yeah, already dealt with. Currently trying to take down the pair at the end. Only managed to have one person join me out of a few attempts 😕

Maneater down after a few attempts on my own then mistakingly wandered up the next stairway… Didn’t realize it’d be an invasion and my laptop was downloading stuff so I think it was a little janky for my Invader, anyway old monk down also 🎉🎉
