Alex couldn’t agree more, I’ve never liked their punditry.
From what I’ve read, a new Sky F1 boss was recruited at the end of 2017. He watched from afar for 2018 with a view to make changes for 2019, one of which was to not renew Ted’s contract.
If a decision was made to not continue with Ted then it’s been poorly handled. There’s been no mention of him in any communications and after the uproar his name suddenly appeared in a last-minute show creation with no explanation. Ted has been silent too so somethings definitely up. What’s not clear is whether it’s a personal decision by Ted, which is obviously his decision, or whether he’s been pushed.
If it’s the latter, then they’ve made a mistake. Ted and his Notebook is clearly a fan favourite and simply putting Ted back on screen in a limited capacity mid-week show (not part of the race weekend) isn’t going to be enough to appease fans. I only wish I could vote with my wallet and go to F1 TV Pro.
