Gordon oops! Thought I’d replied! Apologies
So I finished the campaign last night. Really enjoyed it but I’m looking forward to the online stuff now.
The Ms Marvel story was really well done I thought. My main gripe is actually Nolan North. It just sounded like Nathan Drake. I think he just phoned it in. Possibly literally.
Maybe I’m just thoroughly sick of hearing his voice these days.
The level design (campaign levels, I hear the online levels are more interesting but I’ve yet to see them)was very linear; not at all groundbreaking.
That said though, combat more than made up for it. Every hero felt very distinct; they all were great fun to play, and they all managed to complement each other really well.
That means it’s likely to be great fun online. Each hero once levelled up has a great deal of depth, more so even than Destiny IMO. So I can see myself maining just one or two heroes rather than just being able to choose from all of them without fear of letting folk down.
I think the variety of styles even between different builds of the same hero is going to be interesting. And that’s without delving too deeply into gear upgrades, which seems pretty bloody deep too.
So yeah. Let me know if you fancy online. I think that may be where it shines; once they fix matchmaking (although that doesn’t affect grouping with friends I believe).
