DrDamn https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2022-01-16-ps3-games-are-now-on-the-ps-store-fuelling-rumours-backwards-compatibility-is-on-its-way-to-ps5 I really hope they’ve found a way to run PS3 games under emulation on PS5 rather than this just being a new way to buy cloud games. I’d love to be able to play my way through the Everybody’s Golf games on PS3 again but the timing required meant it just didn’t cut it on PSNow before.
Gordon https://blog.playstation.com/2022/01/20/reflect-on-your-2021-gaming-achievements-with-playstation-2021-wrap-up/ Turns out I’ve played a lot of FFXIV, Returnal and Demon’s Souls. Didn’t see that coming!
Jonbwfc Gordon “this week, oi ‘ave been mostly playin…” Doesn’t seem to work for me at all. May be somewhat overloaded.
Brave Surprised that Valhalla is my number two game last year after Returnal. I’ve got 43 hours on Fenyx, which I almost rinsed and 54 hours in Valhalla, which I feel like I’ve not really started 😄
DrDamn Some of the numbers don’t quite add up. I’ve got 70 hours on FFXIV and 28 on Fall Guys but a total of only 88 online? You get some nice little avatars at the bottom if you want too.
Gordon The Uncharted collection thingy out tomorrow has an upgrade option if you already own the PS4 games. £10 for 60fps and DualSense features, essentially. The same sort of thing would be free on Xbox. I would have thought now maybe isn’t the best time to draw attention to that sort of thing, but what do I know?
DrDamn Gordon I’m still going to get it 😁. Paid minor upgrades aren’t great but they tend to have put a little more effort into them than a basic resolution/FPS bump. The Uncharted stuff has 3 graphic modes to choose from, dual shock support, 3D audio and super quick load times.
Gordon DrDamn I own Lost Legacy and I’ve never played beyond the first half hour. I would like to play it on PS5 with the upgrade but I don’t want to give Jim Ryan the cash. I can practically hear him rubbing his thighs in anticipation.
DrDamn https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2022-uncharted-legacy-of-thieves-ps5-tech-review 3 graphic modes, 4K@30, 1440p@60, 1080@120. Improved LOD and draw distance pop-in. Improved and reduced motion blur. Vastly improved load times, 48 seconds on PS4Pro, 35 seconds on PS5 via backward compatibility and 2.4 seconds on native PS5. 3D Audio. Dual-shock support.
Alex Pleasantly surprised by the number of improvements, they’re not just straight ports. Tempted to play through them again! Also watching the DF videos it’s impressive how good they still look, especially UC4 which came out in 2016.
DrDamn Alex I’ve started a reply of the UC collection recently - will see if I can make it through that first. These were already updated for PS4 with 60fps support.
Jonbwfc Wasn’t expecting Tiny Tina to go straight to PS+.. https://blog.playstation.com/2022/01/26/playstation-plus-games-for-february-ea-sports-ufc-4-planet-coaster-console-edition-tiny-tinas-assault-on-dragon-keep-a-wonderlands-one-shot-adventure/
