Brave Literally just getting mine updated. I have named it the same name as about 50% of xbox owning sci-fi nerds. The Monolith. That thing is a slab.
Alex I’m suddenly thinking headsets. I have the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 which I think is PlayStation only. Am I going to need two different headsets for PS and Xbox or are there ones that work on both systems?
SRR I’m sure there are others, but from what I’ve read the Arctis 7x seem to be the best bet for cross console use. Ironically the 7p is a bit hit and miss. 7x….Xbox model 7p…. PlayStation model
Brave If you have the option to plug it into a 3.5mm jack then it should be good to go? Right? I just plug my Corsair set into the Xbox controller. Although I keep forgetting to turn down the TV sound. That’s such a weird design choice.
Deej Have to say that MS have done a pretty good job this time around. We’ve used our XBoxes far more than the PS5 so far and mini-me’s friends appear to mainly be on Xbox too. Game Pass has proved an absolute winner in our house.
Gordon I’ve got the Arctis 7P and they’re lovely. Sound great and they’re incredibly comfy, even for someone with a big noggin like me. If the 7X was ever in stock I’d probably grab them so I could use one headset for both consoles.
Alex Got it setup and updated. But now 50gb install for Halo Infinite. Xbox really needs some sort of Astrobot-style appetiser game. It’s a bit of an anticlimax! I actually like the design of it more than I thought I would. The top is very cool.
Fumanstu What’s the website that’s good for checking Xbox and PS console stock levels? In the market for an S or X….
Alex Depends a lot on what games you want to play. PS5 has an insane back catalogue of games most of which are free if you have PS+. GamePass is a bit quantity over quality by comparison right now
Fumanstu Alex ah sorry, I meant between a Series S and a Series X. There’s not much in the way of PS5 exclusives that I’m that bothered about in the foreseeable.
BritishBean Fumanstu if you can spare the cash Series X it’s a beast. Something I’ve realised after spending £1k on a laptop
Gammerz Fumanstu Doesn’t it depend upon your TV? If you want 1080p then S. For 4K go for X, I thought these were the main differences?
BritishBean Gammerz true I just expect everyone to have a 4k tv these days 😂 if you’re planning to upgrade to a 4k tv in the near future though…
Fumanstu BritishBean we don’t have a 4k telly. 😂 And I don’t think getting one anytime soon is on the cards either. So am definitely leaning towards getting the S and saving the extra couple of hundred quid for now. But there’s always that nagging doubt…
DrDamn Only half a TB of storage will need management. Particularly with big MS titles clocking in at 100GB each. I think the S resolution disadvantage will be more notable as modern engines like Unreal 5 become the norm too. If you can afford it I’d go XSX even with a 1080p TV.
