I’ve been using zoom for tabletop gaming in isolation with friends, it works fine. In contrast I’ve had one meeting in Skype and the call quality was utterly shocking. I think MS have been putting all their resource into Teams…

Will be interesting to see more next gen footage, I think the only thing I’ve seen so far is that PS5 game.
Just around the time I’ll be on a ship between Sri Lanka and China most likely….hope the internet is good on board.

Seems like it’ll be just third party games with MS first party stuff saved for a June “E3″ showing.

Presumably a very large chunk of this will be AC:Valhalla. Which is perfectly fine.

Be interesting to see how different the games will look and whether there will be direct comparison to X1/X1X versions. Obviously more prettiness, but at this level getting that across in a streamed event will be tricky. Particularly if they show cross gen third party.

Don’t get excited - it’s just a further announcement of the upcoming event. Couple of things of note though …

NB: If you turn on captions the only ones is [New Xbox Sound] at the start.

I don’t know why I expected better but the times at the end for the reveal are slightly telling. 11AM EDT and 8AM PDT … rest of the world? We ain’t even bothered enough to tell you … (4pm BST).

DrDamn that’s an American thing, they do it at my work too forgetting half the people are in EU and HK. I think they are used to just saying EDT and having people translate it in their heads they don’t realise non-Americans have no idea what they’re talking about.

So as I suspected that was a bit underwhelming. Lots of small studio / cross gen stuff with a few bigger games. Some interesting games for sure, but as an XSX demo not so great. Vast majority were ‘expected XSX quality’ rather than running on XSX too. Not that I doubt it can achieve the quality on display but it begs the question of what was the point? I suppose it gives the covered games some good exposure but in a showcase I imagine is taking a lot of flack on the interwebs. Leaving MS free to put the first party stuff front and centre later on down the line.

Kind of agree. There wasn’t anything that popped out, that made me think ‘Ooh, I need that NOW’. It’s early days yet of course, probably five to six months before launch - and we all know launch titles can be pretty underwhelming anyway - but there wasn’t anything there yet that makes me want to go our and buy one on day one.

One or two interesting new things (plus that Bloodlines 2 trailer was sweeeet), but nothing world shaking. Certainly nothing to sell the idea of splashing half a grand on a new console.

Having watched it back again, I rather like the look of Chorus, or Chorvs as they seem to want to call it, looks like a cross between Control and Everspace. Not really a system seller tbh through.

Still waiting on the Assassins Creed Valhalla gameplay to start 🤣
Some interesting looking titles and a decent start at some launch/early games I reckon…..lots of world premeeeers in that presentation.

I think one reason the stream was underwhelming was because it wasn’t great quality. Watching some of the trailers back it seems more impressive. Was there a reason it needed to be a dodgy quality live stream?
