SRR that’s great info but I can’t be arsed to switch those settings on and off depending on which game or movie I’m playing on the Xbox. Why can’t these things just auto detect and apply the right settings for you

I did not survive the New Year sales . Picking up an LG 55″ C9 OLED tomorrow with an LG SL8YG soundbar to go with it. Price for the TV came down to a very acceptable £1150 and doing on 18 months interest free credit to soften the blow.
I’m still loving my 55″ - no regrets. I did pick up a single Sonos One to go in the kitchen, so I can keep listening to music/podcasts while moving round the house. It’s great but reckon I’ll stop there for the moment and resist buying any more.
Treat myself to a 55 Panasonic GZ950 for my Hawaii birthday - the only chance I had as Claire wasn’t keen otherwise
Very nice I must say but will very rarely be used for games tbh. Anything 4k HDR looks fab. Even Claire is impressed
Ooh, ooh, ooh. Looks like the rumours of a 48in OLED are true. Very strong hints of a 48CX(10) tba at CES. This could be the game changer for me (well Alison) regarding Freeview picture quality. Roll on CES. \o/

Just set a Beam up today. I’ve run trueplay on it via my iPad which has made a big difference. Sound is very good indeed. I’m finding a little “boomy” though. I think I’ll need to pull back the bass a bit.
Oooh nice, love my beam. What’s trueplay?

@Jogort yeah it’s frustratingly iOS only. You wander around the room waving your iOS device around like you’re blessing the house, whilst the speaker howls and pops Sci-Fi noises at you.
It reduced the boomy-ness a bit for me and just helped with clarity. It was fine before but it just felt overly bassy. I can’t see me ever needing a sub with this thing. Later on in the year, I’ll probably add a couple of IKEA symfonysk lamps as rears for surround sound though.
It’s very cool that that’s even possible, and genius from IKEA imo as it means I’m not getting objections from Rachel about clutter and cables.
I hadn’t heard of those lamps, interesting thanks.
That’s the IKEA tie in with Sonos isn’t it, read about it a while ago didn’t know it has happened yet.
Yeah they’ve been getting very good reviews, the bookshelf one ( not the lampshade ) is the cheapest way to get a Sonos setup at the moment I believe.
Here’s a list of products. The bookshelf speakers are £99 which is indeed very cheap for a Sonos.
