Brave Titanfall as a series didn't have the success it deserved. Partly due to the initial X1 exclusivity and then the release of TF2 right between the big boys of the genre (recently surfaced that this timing was in fact a decision on Respawn's part too). Fantastic games that were mismanaged. Realistically a Titanfall 3 wasn't going to be the success it needed to be, they had done the hard work and created fantastic, original games with the previous two but it wasn't sticking. It's hard to see what they could have done with 3 to make it a success.
The idea of them heading into the hugely competitive and rapidly getting crowded Battle Royale genre is a mad one, but having seen what they have done with it I think they have a good chance. It's hugely polished and feature rich for an initial release into a genre that demands constant updates, change and evolution. I hope the business model holds up and it's a success for them.
