Picked up F1 2019 for the PC and have been giving it a whirl.
It seems like an evolution of the previous games, but with some nice new features. Obviously the headline is the addition of F2, although there are other additions, such as an overhaul of the online multiplayer, as well as long awaited features such as a showroom that lets you view the models of F1 cars in hyper-detail.
There are also some minor changes that perhaps reflect Liberty Media’s more relaxed approach to the sport, such as the ability to customise liveries in the online modes, as well as to transfer drivers between different teams for the first time. So yes, if you want to put Hamilton in the Ferrari you can.
That said, it’s a bit buggy. There seems to be something weird going on with the framerate during the menus, and when I first started the game up it kept crashing, which was fixed by disabling the Steam overlay. Plus there are a few weird glitches such as the game saying your next lap time will be disallowed and then disallowing the next two. Nothing that can’t be patched.
Anyway, got some hotlaps going for the Red Bull Ring, the best of which is below if anyone wants to challenge it (not hard).
