So now that I’ve kind of recovered from the exhibition, I’m turning my mind towards stuff with the site. Specifically I’m looking at doing stuff on the YouTube channel and was wondering if there were any ideas you might have for short gaming videos/blog pieces.
In terms of what I’m thinking of, an example would be what @Alex wrote about Resi Remake back on G+ (At least I think it was Resi ?). I felt that would have been a good post for the blog and/or could have made a decent video piece.
Also wondering if anyone else fancies giving this a go too. No pressure, no schedules. Just as and when we have time/inclination.
If anyone posts up a well thought out and well written piece about a game on the forum, I’ll probably ask if we can put it on the blog.
Currently I’m thinking of doing 3 minute reviews of cheaper indie titles. Possibly starting with stuff that I caved on, played a bit and then moved from. 😉 Late To The Party style.
Obviously it’s not any sort of priority. Nor do I have massive ambition for it. In my case my photography always takes precedence, but I like this stuff from a hobbyist perspective; not just the gaming but the writing/video/podcast production stuff too. I enjoy it immensely. I find it feeds back into my actual work in lots of ways too. I’ve learnt a lot about audio production and video editing through doing this, which I’m starting to use to promote my own work for example. It’s also helped immensely with the trauma of delivering talks about my work. Public speaking gives me the fear.
Anyway. If anybody fancies taking part just for shits and giggles let me know, if not that’s also fine. It’s all contingent on time and energy ( the latter of which I struggle with at times ) but taking a hobbyist approach and mindset is the way forward I think.
I’m going to have a play with some ideas and work on things that might aid consistency, like titles etc. See if I come up with anything or get distracted by shinies. 🙂
