Well this is rather good. Completely sucked in by the well structured “tutorials” - more mini-quests really. I went for Dzassak and picked a spot away from the main structures but not too wintry. Set up my house by the water and started learning the ropes. Noticed a couple of buildings across the water at night so made a note to pop in on the neighbours at a later date when I go exploring.
After some basic mining and extending my plot to expand the house I have a decent set of crafting equipment and resources so go for a swim across the lake. The neighbours are in and jumping up and down as I approach. Then I spot the PSN id and twig it’s Mrs @Brave! The small cluster of three houses is the full family @Brave too. Aside from picking the same world it was complete coincidence we ended up next door to one another 😃
Will play a bit more at lunch as WFH today. Just put some of my first storage down and love the idea that you can see whats there on the shelves. Also like the smart stacking and ability to use both hands.
Journal system is very good too. Gives you a bit of focus with decent rewards and helps teach you the basics of the game. The shared world with plots is also decently well done, though clearly you need to keep coming back to make sure your beacon is fuelled to maintain “ownership”.
I’ve partially sorted my Atlas issue @Brave. When I got to a new region it populated that on the globe as expected, it’s just my starting area that’s not filled in. Maybe I just need to move about a bit. Top of the screen says “West of ???” so if I travel east a bit hopefully it will fill in.
