It is quite stylised though, would be interesting to see how they’d use things like raytracing, if at all. I have no idea whatsoever what is going to be in the update and the image they’ve put out doesn’t give many clues. Maybe more wildlife and terrain templates, but I don’t see anything particularly unusual in the image.

Still, looking forward to it. I do still tinker in there occasionally.

Going to make exploring actually worth doing again, at least for a bit. A UI revamp was def required, although I’ll have to see what they’ve actually done.. @Brave, did you ever try that code out?

Just clocked that No Man’s Sky is on the PlayStation Plus double discount offer. £17.49.

Had it on disc when it came out and enjoyed it for what it was but got rid just before the first big update.

Just fired up a new save. Within seconds I was swearing in appreciation. It looks goooood

I started a new save on Xbox earlier. One of the planets in my starting system says “worm-ridden” when scanned.

I think you need to do a bit of the 1P in each save before you can MP - may need to get to the spacestation maybe? Not too much though.

I started a new game on PC last night, odd how different the very start feels after all this time - having to worry about recharging stuff and all of that.

I’ve been to three systems so far and they all have a new planet in them. One is a radioactive hellhole, one is a volcanic hellhole, and one is a frozen hellhole with sentinels that attack on sight.

Upgrading your multitool is 50 million credits per slot. Eep.

Ah well. Some of the interface tweaks are nice, like when you warp into a system or land on a planet it tells you how much of the relevant thing you’ve discovered.

I’m seeing a fair bit more variety in there too. You can still see the waveform for want of a better word but the peaks and troughs are more varied and more extreme.

I cannot wait until I open up the more "explorey’ stuff. The vehicles, the underwater stuff, the MECH. 🙂

I think I’m almost at the stage of being ready to hook up. I’m now interstellar capable and I think am about to find the hub thing that unlocks their version of multiplayer quests etc.

I should add, the start seems really well streamlined now. Plenty of guidance on what to do via unobtrusive popups, yet it just patiently waits for you if you get sidetracked by anything else.

Which I do A LOT. 🙂

Brave The Nexus. You need that to the get multiplayer mission structure, but you don’t need that for multiplayer. I have a vague recollection of MPing with someone and they hadn’t even built a base yet - well, it’s a shack, first off - which you need to do before that. I has literally been years since that though I think 😃.

Going to use the Iain M Banks naming convention for my ships I think 😉
