I’m still enjoying this. Still got lots to do. I have to say I don’t particularly like playing as Yasuke, his skillset isn’t as wide as Naoe and being forced into mainly head first confrontations is not very Assassin’s Creed. Also his parkour is very clumsy and there’s a lot of transversal points that are cut off for him.
I would like to just play this as Naoe as a solo game but there are things around the world you need Yasuke for, such some missions and even collectables. I’m not sure exactly how they expect you to play the game. Often on a mission you will come across a collectable or something else that only Yasuke can access, but it’s not clear if you are expected to fight your way back to this point later or just ignore it. Or maybe it thinks you will naturally be playing as him for certain things?
It’s compounded by the very long load times you get switching characters, you can basically can only switch by fast travelling to a viewpoint or safe house, which seems strange given GTAV nailed character switching more than a decade ago before the advent of SSDs.
Also there are some weird cutscene based things, fight to a location alone and suddenly Yasuke is in the cutscene, next the boss fight will start and he will disappear leaving Naoe to battle alone. It’s weird and clunky and feels very tacked on.
As much as I’m enjoying the game the whole twin protagonists thing just doesn’t really seem to work.
