The only person close to Max in terms of penalties is Liam Lawson. And those stats are pre Spain. He needs to be careful. He won’t be, but he needs to be.

The 2nd best bit of drama to come out of the weekend is that it appears that Stroll had a tantrum after Q2 and that is related to why he suffered a relapse of this old hand injury. From BBC.

Looks like Luca De Meo is finally out of Renault.

Time for the big Norris turnaround. He nailed qualifying yesterday and his races have tended to be stronger this year. The McLaren has new front suspension which may be helping him get more feel through the wheel. These youngsters are all sim racers so they tend to feel the grip through the hands rather than through their arses like the old timers.

I think McLaren have tried to space them out a little for this middle stint.

Alex Piastri was given the choice of coming in straight after Lando for first pitstop or staying out and having fresher tyres but a bigger gap. He went for the latter and it didn’t really work out for him. He seemed stronger on the final stint, maybe he just suited the medium tyres.

Good race, live F1 has improved quite a lot since I last watched 😁. Looking forward to the next one.
