Testing over. Not much really to say, except the Red Bull looks quick.
Ferrari though are interesting, they were clearly focused on race pace and spent the whole test doing long runs. This makes sense as that was their big handicap last year. Some of the their long run pace looked very good indeed though, so there is some hope.
Mercedes is a bit of an unknown. A totally new car with a new philosophy. It’s likely it will take them the first part of the season to get things tuned in. I expect them to start down in third or fourth and then build up speed throughout the year.
McLaren looks pretty decent, may be faster than the Mercs at the start of the season. I reckon they could start third and then be overtaken by the Mercs before the end.
The rest is the usual mix of positions, hard to really gleam much. The Alpine looks a bit of a mare though, not looking great at this point. The Aston a bit disappointing, probably going to struggle to get into the top ten. Gambling App Sauber were doing glory runs, presumably to get their new sponsor some air time. The VisaCashGrabRedBull, Williams and Haas looked where you’d expect.
