Brave So many red flags for wet conditions that are ok for inter tyres. I think it’s a combination of a large number of rookies and also Lance Stroll being Lance Stroll. There’s been something like 4 (edit: it was 3 at this point) and we’re not in q3 yet.
Brave Alonso red flag now. I’m beginning to wonder if they should cancel the race. There’s something about this new surface that’s not allowing the water to shift. This seems dangerous.
Brave Another red. Albon just destroyed his car. That’s Williams rebuilding both cars in the next 3 hours. That’s five red flags in one qualifying session. It’s crazy.
Brave Oh and by the way. Verstappen qualified 12 (ish) but has a five place grid drop for engine change. So he’s pretty much at the back of the grid 🥳
Brave Listening to Alonso’s message there I wonder if the extra bumpiness of this terrible new surface made the effects of the rain so much worse.
Alex It’s a strange decision so close to the end of the season. Maybe there’s more to it that we don’t know yet.
