Signed up (@willygubbins) - my feed is Paris Hilton, Vin Diesel, Ant & fucking Dec, numerous “brands” being “funny” and some woman doing duckface in a tiny bikini. It reminds me of TikTok more than anything. I don’t think this is for me.

It seeds your feed with a bunch of messages when you start but as Brave says it seems to learn what you like pretty quickly.
Threads news stories were appearing at the side or half way down the front page of BBC News. Now with Elon threatening to sue it’s the top headline. Well played Elon, well played…
Haha. He’ll actually need to pay his lawyers to have a chance of taking on Meta.
Gordon honestly it begins to learn what you want to see the more you interact, post and follow people who interest you. The difficulty is finding them because they’ve yet to implement hashtags or something similar.
I said the same thing when I started and saw the same sentiment with loads of people but almost all of them came around at the end of the day.
I noticed the change in the feed quite suddenly. It was like I crossed a threshold.
I’ve yet to find a single account I want to follow. You are my entire “following” list. Be entertaining please.
Twitter still has its moments, this thread made me laugh.
Following tab now rolling out. Pressing Threads icon at the top shows it. I had to exit and restart the app for it to work.
They have a web interface now.
Out of curiosity what’s the spam level like?
Was following the air traffic stuff yesterday on Twitter and within an hour it just became a cesspit.
MadAndy It learns from your activity. My feed was terrible for the first few days but it’s great now. You just need to make sure you follow people you actually want to hear, and interact with people you actually want to engage with.
If you don’t engage at all, or engage with people who are twats, your feed will stay pretty crap. But you can build a good feed pretty easily too. edit: plus the following feed is chronological, which means you don’t often have to see anyone you don’t want to either.
You can now search in posts as well as just for users.

It’s gradually getting there.
Anyone looking for a BlueSky invite code? I have three.
I wouldn’t mind one, if there’s any left.
You can use Discord to send it to me.
I’ve set my username, it should be alexmcbride1 now.
