Alex I’m not super into the idea of qualifying being slap in the middle of a Friday. I think people in the F1 bubble forget that we all have jobs.

Brave That was horrifying to see, so lucky no one was hurt in pit lane. Just terrible. I’d be arguing for the end of Baku at the end of this.
Alex Yeah, very worrying to see at the end there, basic safety procedures not being followed. Perez did get lucky with the safety car there though, you’ve got to admit. Not the most scintillating race.
Gordon Alex At the start of the footage, there’s a bunch of people milling around what I assume is the start of the pit lane - who are they and why are they there? (Beth insisted that I find out, she’s horrified by the whole thing)
Alex Gordon that’s the contentious part. They were F1 officials who had moved onto the pitlane expecting the cars to be finishing the race and coming into parc ferme, but the race was still on and the pitlane was open. Ocon came in to take his mandatory pitstop only to find a bunch of people standing on the track.
Brave Apparently the person who was responsible was up in front of the stewards earlier on. So many lives at risk and it wasn’t as if the the world wasn’t screaming at them to get those people off the track.

Alex This weekend’s race has been cancelled. Unfortunate situation but the right decision and I’m glad it was taken early.
