I think this might be a full on Ratner’s moment.
They’ve made a string of bad decisions over the last couple of years, and developers were already pissed off with the state of it all. UE5 and Godot are probably going to get a load of new customers soon.
I’d heard good things about working for Unity, but it never seemed like that could make long term sense (a even short term tbh) with that evil cockwomble at the helm.

Brave customer uninstalls and reinstalls game, unity want another payment. Customer installs game on another device, unity want another payment. Wow. If that’s how it will work then that’s some nasty unjustified practices going on there.
It’s really shady shit. That’s for certain
I can’t wait to hear the discussion about this at work today 😂 We have a couple of popular games on subscription services that will likely register a lot of Unity installs.

I need to crow about this. I said that he was on his way out on an EG thread a while back after the apology came from some other big wig without even acknowledging JR
Lovely to see that manifesting the fate of a hated CEO can work twice in as many weeks
\o/
Brave This could actually make a difference. Certainly a step in the right direction towards restoring trust.
I wonder who’ll take his place? I hear Jim Ryan is free.
What is it about JRs?
Brave did someone order a poison dwarf? 😉
Hold on, I had an idea - Jim Ryan takes over at Unity, and John Riccitiello gets Jim’s old job at Sony. Win win!
Gordon it would be fantastic
