I mean yes. But this is surely an argument against all exclusives isn’t it? I’m not sure I like I world where Mario Kart for example isn’t accompanied by a new piece of mad Nintendo hardware that I need to play it on for example.
It’s a bigger deal I think, if the new Elder Scrolls is exclusive, because that really has been a multiplat favourite for generations now. But I don’t really have a problem with Starfield.
It’s not as if other platform holders haven’t bought developers in order to make exclusive games. Obviously the scale of ActiBlizz is a different order of magnitude and does present possible issues. But as big as they they are I don’t really see how the Bethesda purchase factors in here. Especially when they did make some titles multiplat after the purchase and (outside of Bethesda) Minecraft is the poster child for non exclusive titles made by a platform holder.
