So a few days ago I threw a minor hissy fit after one big vacuuming session triggered a worsening of an ongoing attack that I’ve been riding out for the last three weeks. Basically my muscles are currently permanently tensed and it gets painful and exhausting relatively quickly.

Hoiking a giant Dyson was the final straw; it left me in agony so I sent Rachel a ridiculous email saying we were getting a Robovac because I’m done hoovering. Never again. At least not like that.

Anyway.

I HAZ ROBOVAC.

I’ve named him Bobo and I think I might have a man-crush on him. He hoovers with such aplomb. We’ve been thinking about getting a dog. I don’t know if we need one now, because we have a giant vacuum beetle.

I’ve been genuinely fascinated by it since it arrived yesterday. It doesn’t map the room, but somehow manages to cover the entire bottom floor over the space of about an hour. It manages most objects just fine, although I do make sure cables are off the floor. It only had trouble with one thing, a footstool with weird legs which we’re getting rid of, and that I can just leave on top of the chair at night, for the time being.

I set a schedule for him as a test, and woke up today to find him halfway through it, beetling away happily. He’s quiet enough to not wake us up if we have the doors closed, and he finds his own way home, to charge up, when he’s done.

I can’t believe we have a frickin ROBOT. I seem to be perpetually time travelling into a sci-fi future. Sadly it’s a dystopia, but hey. ROBOT.

AND he was cheaper than a Dyson.

For the curious he’s a Eufy Robovac 30c. I would advise against getting the weird random syllable knock offs on Amazon though.
