Seems like there wasn’t a post for this! I’ve been playing through this recently and it’s pretty good. It continues from where the previous one left off and has you take over as Miles Morales, which apparently is a thing now (I don’t read comics).

It feels really like an expansion of the first, I think it’s a bit cheeky that Sony are selling it as a full price game. It’s the same location (albeit at a different time of year) and it does a few things to try and spice things up, but there’s nothing we haven’t seen before.

By far the best thing about it is Miles and his family/friends, who are cool and breezy and make the story fun, if it is overall a little predictable. Also, and some might roll their eyes at this, it’s nice to see a black family in a game without it being there for a thing. It’s refreshing.

The main story is actually quite short, I’ve almost finished it (I just got the warning to finish off other stuff before progressing) and I feel like I’ve just started. I’d say it’s about ten hours long. I know that open world games can be too long sometimes (hello Assassin’s Creed!) but this feels a bit too brief, again for a full price experience.

Graphics great blah blah. But man, what have they done to my Peter’s face? I’d forgotten they’d redone him and found it really weird and a bit disturbing. I remember Tomb Raider changed Lara Croft’s face, but that was to make her more like the actor voicing her so they could do facial capture. This however is a change I don’t understand. At least he’s not really in it. Yeesh.

Anyway, decent game, play the first one if you haven’t.
