This is the PS5 PS+ game of the month for June. Hadn’t really looked at it much and didn’t know what to expect, just knew it was co-op only and required a decent amount of communication.
Had a session with @Brave last night and it’s just wonderful. Felt like a genuinely fresh gaming experience.
The premise is that you and your team mate are a two person spy team. One of you on the ground and the other a hacker helping from a distance. You get guided through increasingly complex missions to steal info, stop the bad guys etc. It plays out as a larger puzzle - how to complete your objective - and smaller puzzles for individual steps in the process. The co-operation is so well done, you start each step initially figuring out what you know and how that can help your partner in what they are doing, sometimes obvious but time limited, sometimes more investigation and discussion required.
Completion of missions are tracked as both roles (including trophies) and it’s very interesting to re-run the mission with switched roles to see the other perspective. Things get mixed up with each run, so it’s not just a case of learning the path because low level puzzles are different each play.
Highlight of the night was when @Brave had to describe a key to me when I had a choice of six to choose from. I said “Let’s start with cock size, small, medium or large?” and he took about 5 minutes to recompose himself. 😃
@Brave - it’s crossplay with the PC version and you can even play with just one copy (on the PS5) as it supports a free pass version via the demo(?).
