In my last couple of sessions I’ve really started to feel VR is clicking. My pace is back up to where it was and, crucially, my consistency is much improved over what it was before. I’m much less likely to have my mind wander in VR.
That said, in game distractions like chat messages tend to be even more so, as you have to pull your concentration away from what you are doing and a few times I found myself drifting off the track and making other errors. This sort of thing is way more pronounced than when using a flat screen.
Also in wheel to wheel I don’t quite have much confidence yet, as you have to move your head much further to see side to side and that’s actually quite tricky if you’re not used to it.
My results with the F3 at Suzuka have been great though, a third, a second, and another third. All low incident races. I’ve gained a tonne of safety rating and iRating this week. Also, I am just making fewer mistakes.
And yeah, Suzuka in the F3 in VR is crazy. The degners come at you so fast it’s insane!
Edit: Also I have had zero nausea.
